Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
No referral is required.
Is podiatry covered by Medicare?
Generally, podiatry is not covered by Medicare. However, we do accept referrals for Chronic Disease Management Plans (CDMPs) from your GP. These plans are available for individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis. These government plans partially cover your appointment fee, however an out-of-pocket (gap fee) will apply after you claim your rebate. If you have queries regarding the gap fee, please contact the clinic to discuss.
Will my Private Health Insurance cover my podiatry appointment?
This will depend on the level of coverage you have. Podiatry is typically included in extras packages. To help you understand your level of coverage and potential rebate, we suggest you contact your private health provider before your appointment.
Does your clinic have HICAPS?
Absolutely! If your private health insurance covers podiatry we can conveniently process your health fund rebate on the spot by using our HICAPS machine at the time of your appointment.
What should I bring to my appointment?
- Ensure to bring along any patent referrals, correspondence or imaging related to your case. Please email physician referrals to the clinic prior to your appointment.
- Running assessment: wear appropriate running attire and shoes.
- General podiatry: if possible, please remove any nail polish before your appointment.
- Diabetes Assessment or chronic disease management plans: please bring your medications list and recent HbA1c or blood glucose results.
- Sports Injury & Children’s Podiatry: bring frequently worn shoes, school shoes and/or sports shoes. Wear comfortable clothing to move in.
How much do appointments cost?
Appointment fees vary based on the consultation and duration of the appointment. If you have questions about costs, you can call or send an email requesting our pricing schedule or an estimated breakdown for specialised treatments.
Cancellation fees?
We prioritise our clients' time and pride ourselves on our ability to deliver quality care and a professional service. Therefore, we ask our clients to provide us with at least 24 hours' notice for any changes or cancellations to booked appointments as this enables us to offer the time to other clients. Cancellations or changes inside of the 24 hour appointment window must be requested via email and may incur the full appointment fee.
